Webinar Cryptosporidium parvum calf model

During the webinar, GD experts Debora Smits and Erik van Engelen will discuss the development and use of the Cryptosporidium parvum calf model. The importance of C. parvum infection, the mechanism of disease and the burden of disease will be described. In addition, we will show how an experimental model gives more insight into the course of infection and gives tools for the evaluation of preventive or curative measures.

"After graduating in biology, I studied veterinary medicine and became a bovine practitioner. I started at GD as an immunologist, switched to bacteriology and obtained a Dutch specialisation. I'm involved in several studies on the detection and characterisation of important veterinary pathogens, including the production and improvement of autologous vaccines."
